Lynn has worked with clients from a wide range of ethnic groups and socioeconomic means. During her first year following completion of her graduate degree she worked in a residential treatment program that worked with young male offenders, some of whom were developmentally disabled. For three years she worked for Hennepin County Social Services in the areas of children's mental health and with parents who had developmental delays. She worked as a psychotherapist for Park Nicollet in the northern suburbs for two years. Lynn conducted comprehensive parenting assessments for child protection agencies for nine years. Since 1999 she has also worked as a school social worker and as a result understands special education due process and disability categories. In addition to working as a school social worker, she has also maintained a private psychotherapy practice since 1998. Lynn completed graduate training as a professional life coach in 2004 and has worked with many clients who have fulfilled their dreams, improved their relationships and/or pursued their passion through personal coaching. A Certified Positive Discipline Associate, she is passionate about parenting (and grand-parenting!).
As a Certified EMDR therapist, Lynn has the skills to greatly assist those who have suffered from trauma and/or are experiencing anxiety as well as a host of other issues that are interfering with their happiness. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing which is a specialized modality of therapy.
Yoga Calm is a program that helps children learn self-regulation strategies while they are having fun AND getting exercise. Lynn is a Certified Yoga Calm instructor.
Having worked for several years as a school social worker Lynn has seen the impact trauma has had on children. Passionate about how to assist all children in realizing their fullest potential she has studied trauma and identified a multitude of tools that educators, parents and other caregivers can use to provide safe and healing environments in which all children can thrive and succeed. She has provided many workshops and presentations on Trauma and it's impact on learning, brain development and behavior as well as identified it as a hidden inequity in our society.
Lynn is a wife, mother, and grandmother who is passionate about supporting people on their healing journeys. Believing that we have our own answers within us, she assists clients in learning meditation and relaxation techniques so they can quiet their minds and hear the wisdom within them. She is honored to have worked with so many courageous children, adolescents, couples, families and adults who have worked through their past traumas so they can lead happier and more fulfilling lives in which they realize the gifts they possess and are able to share them with others.
